What made you want to take the GA Software Engineering Immersive Online Class?
Prior to taking the General Assembly Software Engineering Immersive course, I had taken a couple of introductory courses that taught me some basic coding. After taking these introductory courses, I found out that I enjoyed building things, so I signed up for the more intensive software engineering online class.
How was your experience taking the class, and how do you think it prepared you for your next role?

GA was a great learning experience for me. I learned a lot of different material necessary for working in the industry and exercised my practical skill sets: manage tasks effectively, how to be resourceful, problem solve, and work efficiently.
We are now the official placement partner for GA’s Software Engineer, UX Designer, and Data Science Immersive Course Graduates - how was your experience making a profile on Vettery?
Making a Vettery profile was fairly simple -- I don’t recall spending much time or having any difficulty.

How were you able to showcase the new skills you learned from GA onto your profile?
I was able to list specific skills that I thought I felt employers should see. I was also able to showcase my portfolio, where employers could see my work.

How did Vettery help you get your next role?
Vettery gave me exposure to employers. My boss sought to find someone through Vettery because of their partnership with GA, and he believes in the school.
How was your experience on the Vettery platform?
Overall, I was impressed. Not only do I have a job, but along the way, Julia, my Candidate Experience Specialist, reached out to me to keep me aware of employers and what my next steps should be.
How was your experience with your candidate experience specialist? My Candidate Experience Specialist, Julia, was great and reached out to me to make sure that I was aware of opportunities.
Vettery perk - A Candidate Experience Specialist is Vettery’s version of a career coach. Candidate Experience Specialists guide job-seekers through their entire lifecycle on Vettery and provide tips for optimizing a Vettery profile, reminders for unanswered messages from employers, and insight and support in later stage interview processes.
Would you recommend other job-seekers to use Vettery to find their next role?
I absolutely recommend any outlet that gives a candidate exposure, and Vettery had a personal touch wrapped into it by having a candidate experience specialist.

Vettery is excited to see the success Ross had from our new partnership with General Assembly! We look forward to continuing to place GA’s Software Engineer, UX Designer, and Data Science Immersive Course Graduates on the Vettery platform and allow GA’s network of employers to join the Vettery platform.
